OASE BioMaster² Thermo: external filter with built-in heater
The OASE BioMaster² Thermo is an external canister filter with an OASE HeatUp heater fitted inside the canister. The water is filtered and heated in one unit, so there is no heater tube in your aquarium and no hot glass for fish to rest against. It suits freshwater and marine aquariums from 150 to 850 litres.
This is the Thermo version, with heater included. If you already have a heater, choose the OASE BioMaster² without heater.

Each heater is sized at about 1 watt per litre. If the aquarium stands in a cold room, or you keep fish that need 28 °C or more, consider the next size up.

All models: 230 V / 50 Hz, hose connection 16/22 mm (inner/outer), 1.5 m power cable, suitable for freshwater and saltwater. The heater only draws its full wattage while it is heating. Warranty 3 years, plus 1 extra year when you register the filter with OASE.

What is the difference between the BioMaster² Thermo and the standard BioMaster²?
The filter is the same. The Thermo comes with an OASE HeatUp heater installed inside the canister, so you need no separate heater in the tank. The standard BioMaster² has no heater.
Which heater comes with each BioMaster² Thermo?
Thermo 150 has a 100 W HeatUp, Thermo 250 a 150 W, Thermo 350 a 200 W, Thermo 600 a 300 W and Thermo 850 a 400 W.
Can I set the water temperature?
Yes. The HeatUp has a dial on top of the filter, adjustable from about 19 to 32 °C. A light shows when the heater is on. Check the real tank temperature with a separate thermometer for the first few days.
Is the BioMaster² Thermo 150 good for a small planted tank?
Yes, for tanks up to 150 litres. It gives heating and filtration with no equipment in view, which suits aquascapes. On tanks around 60 litres, turn the flow down with the included flow regulator.
Can I replace the heater if it fails?
Yes. The HeatUp is a separate part inside the canister and can be swapped for a new HeatUp of the same size.
Can I use the BioMaster² Thermo in a saltwater aquarium?
Yes. OASE rates all BioMaster² Thermo models for both freshwater and marine aquariums.
