Juwel Bioflow Filter Systems
The Juwel Bioflow filter systems are characterised by their particularly large filter volume, which provides plenty of space for excellent mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration. The Juwel Bioflow Super is the ideal solution for tanks up to 150 litres — especially beginner aquariums. The large volume and its special bipolar current principle enable long service life and extended maintenance intervals.
Thanks to the intelligent design of the filter housing, easy access to the pump and heater (not included) is provided. Moreover, the use of special filter trays makes the removal of filter media for cleaning very simple. The filter utilises the so-called bipolar current principle, which manages two different flow rates within the filter chamber. The faster flow around the coarsely cleaning mechanical and chemical filter area supports strong filtering performance, while the slightly slower flow in the lower parts of the filter chamber allows beneficial bacteria to settle and continue biological filtration.
The filter comes equipped with five different filter media and offers sufficient internal space to be upgraded with the appropriate Juwel AquaHeat Automatic Heater.

Maintenance
Juwel filter media should be changed regularly to maintain their functionality. It is advisable to follow these intervals:
- BioPad: once per week
- BioCarb: once every 3-4 weeks
- Nitrax: once every 8 weeks
- BioPlus coarse/BioPlus fine: once every 3-9 months
It is recommended to replace the impeller, axle, and rubber axle holders every 12 months to retain the filter’s high performance.
