Phorax Phosphate Remover from Juwel is a powerful filter medium for reducing phosphate levels. By helping to prevent algae, it also improves plant growth in your aquarium.

Phosphates regularly enter aquarium water through fish food and are not naturally broken down. However, aquatic plants require only minimal amounts of phosphate for healthy growth. Excessive phosphate can trigger unwanted algae outbreaks.

Dissolved phosphate is removed from the water by the aluminium mineral contained in the Phorax medium. It forms water-insoluble aluminium phosphate, effectively binding the excess phosphate. Juwel Phorax can bind up to 12 mg of phosphate per gram.
